Sustans® is the newest innovation form the Dupont™ laboratories. It is based on corn fibres.
Sustans® fiber has a natural 3D spiral structure. It offers excellent thermal insulation properties of clothes: it is soft, fluffy, capable of keeping the warmth and it keeps its shape and size.
SUSTANS is a thermal insulation material made of DuPont SORONA fiber. It uses DuPont’s SORONA polymer derived from plant-based natural renewable resources and closed loop production process, which is a perfect combination of biotechnology and fiber technology.
DuPont used glucose, a bio-based monomer, as the base material for the production of bio-based-PDO, creating SORONA bio-based fibers, a feedstock of renewable origin. In the production process of bio-based PDO replacing petroleum-based PDO, it can reduce energy consumption by 40% and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40%.
